Status: Active — funding restored after the 2025 pause; states are running solicitations under FHWA's August 2025 Interim Final Guidance
Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program
$2.5 billion authorized for FY2022–FY2026 across Community and Corridor tracks
Status: Uncertain — disbursements paused and some awards cancelled; active litigation as of mid-2026. Verify current status before relying on CFI funds.
EPA Clean School Bus Program
$5 billion authorized for FY2022–FY2026; roughly $2.3 billion remaining to distribute
Status: Being restructured — 2024 rebate round cancelled Feb 2026; a revamped 2026 grant round with expanded fuel eligibility is expected, NOFO not yet issued
